John often referred to himself as "Treble H", the Horsenden Hill Highlander, and was known to some as The Ealing Jock.
He was a busy bagpiper who played at weddings, funerals and piped in the haggis at Burns Nights. He loved the theatre and his West End shows. He was also a member of The Questors theatre in Ealing.
He often played his pipes out in the meadow next ot Arglye Road.
John was my landlord for three years in Perivale, and my good friend. We bonded because we were both musicians, and I got him into Jazz.
John was a lovely, gentle and thoughtful guy, and he'll be missed.
